How does an Australian look like ?
Well, here it comes: No hair due to the strong rays from the sun.
Protruding eyes, because they live with their head downwards on the southern hemisphere.
Mouth
full of chewing tobacco and as you can see a LOT. :-)

An ordinary city on the other side of the Earth; could be mistaken from another large European city.
Trolleys have priority
of the road over cars and there are
special rules when taking a right turn in a street with "Tram" rails.
But that is a totally different story which you will
learn while you are in the middle of it. :-)

I showed you a lizard from "Northern territory". So here´s a picture of one of the small penguins from "South Australia", which comes ashore on "Phillip Island". It is NOT allowed to use a flash, so you need a light sensitive roll of film. This picture is taken with a 1600 asa and is not quite right, so a higher number of asa (prob. 2400) is advisable.
The penguins jump in on the coast; thus
flashlight blinds them and they are thumbling around on the beach
and can´t find their nests.

If you think this picture looks a little to dark, it is because it is taken at dusk.
It is not a flooded runway, but the capital "Canberra" showing off its spectacular lightshow."Canberra" is probably one of the most "designed" capitols; everything is planned, even the future place for the Danish Embassy, (don´t know if it has moved by now). The city is built as one big
round-about, the suburbs are also giant roundabouts. (Remember! They drive clockwise). The houses are not allowed to exceed 3 storeys, the lake is fake (artificial). But it´s a stunning place.
The city is also the proud owner of the
cleanest "back-packer accommodation" I´ve ever
seen.

The Parliament is situated under the surface, well it seems like
it is. It is the only parliament I know, where it is allowed to
sit, walk and eat lunch on top of it without being shot at.
A really nice looking building, located in
the middle of the greatest roundabout of them all.

Deep space tracking station.
This
one I had to see. It is one of the three tracking stations, which are located around the globe approx. 120° apart. This way there´s
always one station which can communicate with satellites,
spaceshuttles and deepspace expeditions, like the Mars explorers.
It also contains an exhibition about space and space travel and is
competable with the one NASA has at "Kennedy Space
Center" U.S.A.
